Do I need a separate grinder if I buy an espresso machine?
Yes — and it's the single most important upgrade you can make. Pre-ground coffee goes stale within minutes of grinding. A quality burr grinder gives you fresh, consistent grounds every time, which directly impacts the flavor and crema in your shot. What's the difference between a burr grinder and a blade grinder?
A burr grinder crushes beans between two abrasive surfaces for a uniform, consistent grind — essential for espresso and pour-over. A blade grinder chops beans unevenly, producing inconsistent particle sizes that result in a bitter or sour cup. For home coffee, always choose a burr grinder.

What's the difference between a pour-over and a French press?

How long does shipping take?
Orders are processed within 1–3 business days. Standard delivery takes 5–10 business days within the United States. Estimated delivery times are also listed on each product page.

Will I receive a tracking number?
Yes. Once your order ships you'll receive a confirmation email with tracking information. Allow 24–48 hours for tracking to update after you receive the email.

Do you ship internationally?
We currently ship within the United States only. International shipping is on our roadmap — sign up for our email list to be notified when it becomes available.

Returns & Refunds

What is your return policy?

My item arrived damaged. What do I do?
Contact us at hello@altohaus.co with photos of the damage within 48 hours of delivery. We'll make it right with a replacement or full refund depending on availability.
